free shuttle bus from bangor erris to westport

​Local link Mayo in association with Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht wish to announce a free bus service that will run twice daily from Bangor Erris to Westport (and visa versa) from the 1st June 2018 until Friday the 31st August 2018 inclusive. Stopping at Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre, Claggan Mountain Coastal Trail, Mulranny, Wild Nephin at Srahrevagh (going through Srahmore), Newport and Westport.

​Local link Mayo is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation from the National Transport Authority that a once off fund will be made available from the period July 1st to 31st December 2018 to provide community groups and individuals who require once off community transport services. An application form and guidelines are available from Local Link Mayo, Glenpark, The Mall, Castlebar, County Mayo telephone 094 9047571 or email

Completed applications must be received by email before cob 5pm on Wednesday the 6th June 2018.

  • Lahardaun to Ballina with 3 main designated stops in between (please see timetable attached)
  • Ballycastle to Ballina with 4 main designated stops in between (please see timetable attached)

Friday weekly service from Lahardane to Castlebar (operated by Mark Evans T/A GolfMayo ) with 3 designated stops in between and calling at locations Massbrook, Parke/Turlough, Crimlin – (door to door pick up – on demand service)  Services to commence Friday the 1st of December 2017

New Route 804, Rossport –  Belmullet service

Local link Mayo are pleased to announce the following New Route Commencing December 2017:

 Monday to Thursday weekly service from Rossport to Belmullet (operated by Malachy Gaughan) with 6 designated stops in between and calling at locations including Aughoose, Pullathomas, Glencad, Inver, Barnatra, Glencastle Services to commence Monday the 4th of December 2017

The National Transport Authority (NTA)  have requested that each Transport Coordination Unit in the country , of which Mayo Community Transport is one,  to  notify all registered operators with the Road Transport Operator Licensing Section in Galway of an upcoming tender process which will be completed through E-Tenders.
